Auto sales employment scams?

Posted by admin

I was seeking employment in auto sales. Everytime I get called in for an interview it turns up to be a sales training service that is supposedly gonna train me for 4 days and then send me to a dealsership…. is this the normal process for becoming a car sales person?

No. You should apply directly to the dealership. Large dealerships rotate through sales staff constantly. If you apply to several different dealerships, you should find at least one that is hiring.

They will all prefer some sales experience. If you don’t have it, you may go into a training program with them with little or no pay until you’re adequately trained. After that, the sky is the limit!

Career in car sales. Why are they always hiring? Etc…?

Posted by admin

I’ve long considered trying my hand at car sales. I’m self employeed and my customers seem to love and trust me. I’m always honest and upfront with them and the experience has taught me how to interact with customers well. One might think that being honest/direct wouldn’t go hand in hand with car sales, but I hear the better salesmen these days tend to be the ones who are straight shooters.

A few questions: Why are there always ads for car salesmen? I would assume it’s high turn over but what is causing that? Are you expected to make cold calls? I’m good at the one on one but don’t expect myself to do well at all if I’ve got to make phone calls out of the blue. Since I’d expect lots of time on my hands waiting, are we allowed to read/etc to kill time? Will you get canned if you don’t meet a quota every single month, or are they willing to hold onto somebody who is trying but the market is bad at the moment? How long is training and what does it involve? "Cheer sessions"?

I met 2 car salesmen years apart, and they both told me the same thing. For every car sold, they may get $100. Some companies won’t give out commissions til the end of the quarter. There are tough times, when you sit for hours with nothing to do, if people are not looking.
Hence, it’s not cracked up to be what you, or I , had thought. So people move on. I actually had a person looking for a job, who came to me at work to apply for a retail sales job at $7.00 per hour, because he was not making money selling cars.

Do Car Dealers offer on the job training for new employees?

Posted by admin

I have experience in sales, but not in selling cars. Just thought I’d put the question out there. Thanks

some dealer will give training some will not give depends on the company

How does someone get to work in a car dealership as a sales agent??

Posted by admin

I dont think you need any special training??? but how do you get experience, what are they looking for in possible employees??

They are looking for very outgoing, persistent and persuasive people. Usually they will start you in the used car section and you have to work up to selling new cars. It helps if you have had some type of sales experience in the past. This isn’t an easy job, the hours often involved weekend and evening and you may be paid only on a commission basis.

Experienced Car Sales People? please help?

I got hired at this car dealership not too long ago. It’s my first time selling cars but not in sales. My question is, if the job don’t train, how do I train myself? Besides knowing about all the cars and their prices, what else can I do? I’ve never been to a job that don’t train before so this is a bit of a challenge for me. It didn’t say in the job ad that I have to be able to be self starter. but I heard lately that most of the time in this kind of job you have to start on your own. The day I got hired, they told me they will train me…the person that suppose to train me must be on vacation because I haven’t seen him/her yet…sucks!! I thought that they would be happy that its my first time selling cars because then they can train me the way they want me to sell. most sales people with experience is pretty much set on their way of how to sell.
I also thought maybe they’re watching me to see how long I last. last week 9 people come and quit. I thought it was crazy but maybe they’re looking to see if I really want to work there, which I really do, and then they’ll train me. I’m not a quiter, never will. I know nobody wants to spend time training new people and then couple days later, if that, they quit. I know that’s not a good feeling because I’ve had a managing job before and had to train people.

oh no, you’re working at one of them places. Here’s what you do, grab as many customers as you can one at a time, set them down at your desk and ask them questions about what they want. Write everything down on a purchase order, then take it to your manager and have him worry about it. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TELL THE CUSTOMER YOU ARE NEW AT THIS, they will understand and it will also make them a little more relaxed and give you some extra points with them.

After you have run back and forth to your GM or finance manager a few times, they will get tired of you pestering them and give you some proper training.

Most of all you must be NICE TO THE CUSTOMER.

Luxury Car sales what u can or cant do?

Posted by admin

I going to start my training to sell a japanese luxury brand car and suv next week i just dont know if these kind of dealers let you market yourself like sending mails, making own web site, sticking cards and things like that considering they sell "Luxury"

Believe it or not, they actually cover all that in the training. If they don’t, ask.

Remember, you are representing the company AND the brand, not merely yourself. if you do something that can look bad you’ll get let go in an instant.

where can I get trained to be a used car sales manager?

All the managers I know have had to work their way up from sales positions. However if your brave and have alittle cash to lay out then why not start your own car lot. A friend did this and has made some great money plus drives a newer truck every month or so.
